ON WORLD's AIDS DAY/1st Dec 2010:PREVENTION IS BETTER THAN CURE!

THE FACTS ARE:

-33 millions in the world  are living with HIV/AIDS

 2/3 are  in Subsahara Africa.

-2.2 million were infected last year(7000/day)

 And 2 million died from AIDS

-2.5  million children are infected by HIV/AIDS

-16.6 million of children became orphans due to AIDS

-83 000 were infected by HIV/AIDS in Britain in 2008

-Each patient suffering from AIDS will cost about £500 000 to look after.

Aids(Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndome) is caused by the virus HIV(Human Immune deficiency virus).

Infection occurs through the exchange of body fluids:semen,blood,saliva...

Sometimes the  infection is given from the infected pregnant mother to her child  during birth or through breastfeeding.

AIDS is a killer disease and there is no cure for it.

Some drugs might lessen its severity or lengthen the period of  one's life.

The majority of HIV/AIDS infection are caused by:

-Adultery/fornication(Zina) and having sex with prostitutes due to sexual immorality and promiscuity

-Homosexuality and anal intercourse

-the sharing of the use of the same needle among drug addicts which will spread the infection more.

Amazingly Islam has PROHIBITED  all these major causes of infections by HIV/AIDS.

Not only that ,but Islam has given us also ,a great health gift which will prevent about 60% of HIV/AIDS,according to the World Health Organisation(WHO)  and  to many International Conferences on AIDS:

It is  CIRCUMCISION for boys/men.

No doubt,the Islamic behaviour is the best strategy to work on for  the PREVENTION of  most HIV/AIDS ...and PREVENTION IS BETTER THAN CURE!
